Nance

Byrsonima crassifolia is a slow-growing tree, native to tropical America, that can reach up to 33 ft in height. It is quite abundant in the wild. Its small, sweet, yellow, strongly scented fruits, called nances in Costa Rica, are eaten raw or cooked. They can be fermented into vinegar or a most refreshing vino de nance (nance wine) perfect for hot days!
