Golden Raintree

Koelreuteria paniculata, commonly known as the Golden Rain Tree, is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree native to Asia. It is prized for its bright yellow flowers that bloom in the summer, followed by clusters of lantern-shaped seed pods. The tree has an attractive spreading crown and grows to a height of 30-40 feet. It is tolerant of heat, drought, and poor soil conditions, making it a popular choice for landscaping. The leaves are pinnate, with small leaflets that turn yellow in the fall. The wood is hard and durable, and the tree is valued for its medicinal properties. It is also a host plant for several species of butterflies.
