Brazilian Dutchman's pipe

This tree or vine can reach 20 feet and is native to Costa Rica, Panama, and Brazil. It is known for its massive burgundy velvet flowers, netted with distinctive ivory-white veins that can reach 6x12 inches. These flowers have a potent and slightly nauseating fragrance that the plant uses to attract its main pollinator: flies.
